How Can I Obtain and Dispute My CLUE Report From LexisNexis?
How to obtain your CLUE Report
You can request your CLUE report directly from LexisNexis as a consumer. When you request it, be prepared to verify your identity. Use your legal name and include your current address and any recent prior addresses (address history matters because CLUE can be tied to a person and/or a property).
Once you receive it, review each claim entry closely, especially the date of loss, claim type, insurer name, and the address/vehicle associated with the loss. Many “errors” are actually misattributions (wrong person, wrong address, duplicate claim, or claim shown without proper context).
How to dispute an error on your CLUE Report
If a claim is wrong, file a dispute with LexisNexis and be very specific. Identify the exact claim entry you’re challenging and clearly state what you want changed: deletion, correction, or an update (for example, claim closed as $0, not policyholder, wrong address, wrong date).
Your dispute is strongest when you attach documents that directly contradict the CLUE entry, such as a letter from the insurer confirming no such claim, declarations pages showing you were not the named insured at the time, proof you didn’t live at the property on the loss date, settlement paperwork, or proof the claim was withdrawn/closed.

Also dispute with the insurance company that reported it
This step is often the difference between a temporary fix and a permanent one. LexisNexis largely reflects what insurers furnish. If the insurer’s internal record is wrong, the CLUE item can return later. Disputing with the carrier helps correct the issue at the source.
What happens after you dispute
LexisNexis will investigate and respond with the results. If they “verify” an entry you can prove is wrong, you can submit more documentation and push for correction. If an inaccurate CLUE entry caused a denial or significant premium increase and wasn’t corrected despite strong proof, you may have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
How we can help
If your CLUE report contains claims that aren’t yours or are being reported inaccurately, we can help you dispute the entry properly and pursue compensation if the error caused real financial harm.
