I Need My Uber Reactivated, but Checkr Says There’s No Report on Me, What Does That Mean?
If Uber won’t reactivate you and Checkr says there are no reports, it usually means one of these is happening: Uber didn’t successfully submit the background check request, it was submitted under different account details, or Uber is using a different screening/vendor flow (including driving-record verification) and your issue isn’t actually a Checkr report problem. The fix is to force clarity: who is the vendor, does a report exist, and what exactly is blocking activation?
Why you can’t find your report in Checkr (most common reasons)
This happens all the time, especially with reactivations:
Uber hasn’t generated the request yet. The app may show “background check issues” even when no report has been created.
Mismatch in identifiers. If your Uber account info changed (email, phone, legal name format, DOB typo), Checkr may not match you to the report even if one exists.
Old/duplicate Uber account. A prior account from years ago can create confusion and prevent the current check from linking properly.
Not actually a background check. Uber sometimes labels identity verification, document verification, or MVR/DMV problems as “background check issues.”
Different vendor. Depending on location and type of check, Uber may route parts of screening through vendors other than Checkr (or use separate driving-record vendors). In that scenario, Checkr legitimately has nothing.
The most important thing to look for: an Adverse Action notice
If Uber made a negative decision based on a consumer report, you may receive a pre-adverse action or adverse action notice. That notice usually tells you the name of the report provider and how to get a copy. Search your email (including spam) for: “adverse action,” “pre-adverse,” “consumer report,” “background check decision,” and “Checkr.”
If you never received any notice, it’s often a sign the block is not based on a completed consumer report.
What to do if Uber says “it’s Checkr” but Checkr has nothing
Ask Uber to verify the exact identifiers used for the request (legal name, DOB, email/phone) and correct any mismatch. Even a missing middle name or an old phone number can prevent the report from linking to you.
If Uber confirms it’s not a report problem
If the issue is identity verification, licensing/MVR, or an internal account hold, then a dispute with Checkr won’t help, your fix is Uber-side escalation and document/identity correction.
How We Can Help
If you’re stuck in the loop where Uber says “background check,” but Checkr says “no report,” we can help you pinpoint whether this is a vendor mismatch, an identifier issue, or a non-report activation block and guide you on the exact language and documentation to get Uber to re-initiate or manually review your reactivation.
